Away from Misery

A young couple escapes to a tropical paradise to get away from the monotony of everyday life. Will they be able to find the happiness that they seek so badly?

Sometimes you have to fly halfway around the world to grasp one basic truth: how nice it is to be at home! This story was inspired by Herluf Bidstrup's humorous sketches, which accurately reflect human nature. Also, by my own experience of my two-year trip (or rather wanderings) throughout Asian countries as a form of escape from settled existence in Europe.

This movie was selected for the festivals in Germany, Portugal, Italy, and Belgium.
